Directions:
1. Use carpet tape to attach MDF blank to original insert. With band saw, cut close to insert. Using original insert as template, use router table with flush trim bit (or pattern cutting bit) to make exact copy of insert, Detach copy from original.
2. Transfer locations for leveling screws. Drill holes, tap threads, and insert screws.
3. Drill counter sunk hole on side and front edges for adjustment screws. Add nail to back edge to prevent insert from unintentionally rising. Bore finger relief hole.
4. (With original insert installed in throat,) move fence to edge of throat opening. Make a stopped cut. Mill splitter to thickness matching blade (or use hardboard for 1/8" blade.) Glue into place. Taper front of splitter to a point.
